DEAL CHECK

Price ≠ value. A timer ≠ proof. A screenshot = evidence.

Buy the deal—not the pressure

Price checks, seller checks and practical protection for online deals.

Start with the decision, not the domain name

BeeCrazy.hk launched in 2010 as a Hong Kong daily-deal and flash-sale platform and was acquired by iBuy Group in 2013. This is a new independent consumer-information site; it is not a reopened marketplace and it does not sell deals or vouchers.

A deal-audit desk for Hong Kong shoppers: verify the price, seller, terms, payment protection and exit route before a countdown makes the decision for you.

A deal is only useful after the exact product, ordinary comparable price, seller, restrictions, delivered total and remedy have all been checked. The guide therefore separates five kinds of decision and gives each focused question a page of its own.

Choose the route that matches the task

Decode the deal

Separate a real price advantage from countdowns, anchors and incomplete totals. Do not repeat promotional claims as facts. Evaluate the exact comparable product, total delivered price, restrictions and time value.

Check the seller

Know who takes the money, who supplies the item and which promises are written down. A domain suffix, social following or search position is not proof of identity. Use independently verifiable business and fulfilment details.

Pay with protection

Choose a payment route with records, dispute options and the least unnecessary exposure. Describe protections conditionally because issuer and platform rules vary. Never promise a chargeback or refund outcome.

Fix a bad purchase

Use a documented escalation path for non-delivery, mismatch, expired vouchers and failed merchants. State practical options without giving legal advice or guaranteeing redress. Route suspected offences and fraud to the correct authority.

Pressure, privacy and scams

Reduce impulse decisions, unnecessary data collection and losses to fake shops. Use behavioural and privacy evidence without diagnosing readers. Keep anti-fraud advice defensive and direct suspected crime to official channels.

Source policy

The Hong Kong Consumer Council publishes practical online-shopping guidance. Customs and Excise explains unfair trade practices under the Trade Descriptions Ordinance, while payment disputes remain subject to the card issuer or platform's own rules.

The site names a short source set on every guide page, but a source list is not a substitute for matching the source to the claim. An official body can still publish an old page, and a current page can describe a general rule that does not cover one person's circumstances.

Save the offer, product description, seller identity, checkout total, delivery promise, return terms, payment record and correspondence in one evidence folder before any page changes.

Keep a decision record

For every material choice, write the question in one sentence and name the organisation that can answer it. Add the source title, the date checked, the exact subject it covered and the result. This is more reliable than saving a collection of undated tabs.

Separate facts from preferences. A rule, eligibility condition, product identity or safety instruction needs evidence. A preferred routine, location, teaching style or payment convenience is a personal trade-off. Both matter, but they should not be presented as the same kind of claim.

Finally, record what would make the answer expire. A new intake, changed seller, different material, revised collection scheme or updated government instruction should trigger a fresh check. Pause the purchase, verify the seller through an independent route, and use the complaint, issuer or enforcement channel that fits the actual problem.

What this guide will not promise

A .hk address, large follower count, padlock icon or high search position is not proof that a seller is local, solvent or trustworthy.

This publication does not sell a product, deal, application or professional service. It cannot decide an official application, resolve an individual dispute or replace food-safety, legal, financial or immigration advice. It can make the questions and verification path clearer.

About this guide

Is this the former organisation that used the domain?

No. This is a new independent informational publication and the historical relationship is disclosed on the site.

Are the external organisations sponsors?

No. They are named because they own or publish relevant primary information, not because they sponsor or endorse the site.

How are changing details handled?

Pause the purchase, verify the seller through an independent route, and use the complaint, issuer or enforcement channel that fits the actual problem.

Where should I begin?

Choose the route that matches the immediate decision and open its most specific question.
